How was your week!? I’m back from vaycay and an awesome show last night. This edition of the gazette is a day late, but I didn’t want to go a whole 2 weeks without writing to you! What have you been up to? Are you enjoying summer break??
I had a great time in NoLa, and am already looking up tickets for my next trip
Immediately after I got back from New Orleans it was back to rehearsing for the 10th Annual DC Loves Dilla Tribute Show, featuring Common (I almost fainted when we met), Musiq Soulchild, J*Davey, Georgia Ann Muldrow, and many other amazing artists—not to mention the most awesome band in DC (The Players) of which I am a part B-) . I finally made it to the cool kids’ table!

Today’s songwriting tip is never stop learning! Which incidentally is also a good life tip! The minute you think you know everything is the minute you stop getting better. There is so much to learn here! It’s pretty exciting actually.
I’ve signed up for a workshop this Wednesday with one of my favorite songwriting mentors —Brent Baxtor— and I’m looking forward to sharing all the tips I learn with you guys! The workshop is all about finishing your songs! That’s definitely something we can always use help with.
